Job Purpose:

The purpose of the job is to develop sophisticated models and algorithms to transform raw data into actionable insights, analyse data to uncover insights that inform organisational decisions and predict future trends, and create predictive models and machine learning algorithms to drive innovation and strategic decision-making within the company.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:

  • Model Development: Develop sophisticated models and algorithms that transform raw data into actionable insights. This includes exploring various statistical and machine-learning techniques to extract meaningful patterns from complex datasets and working with diverse data sources, including PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management), on-site equipment, SaaS applications, etc.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse large volumes of data to uncover valuable insights and identify trends, correlations, and anomalies that can inform critical business decisions.
  • Report Development: Building data visualisation tools, dashboards, and reports and integrating data from multiple business systems into a cohesive and comprehensive visualisation.
  • Predictive Modelling: Create predictive models using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. These models will help us anticipate trends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with all internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Automation: Writing programs to automate data collection and processing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics.
  • A Master’s Degree or PhD will be advantageous.

Required Experience:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Python or R is crucial.
  • Data Wrangling and Cleaning: Ability to prepare, clean, and process large and complex datasets.
  • Data Visualization: Skill in creating clear and informative visualisations to communicate insights.
  • Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
  • Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application.
  •  Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific industry or domain you’re working in.
  •  Problem-solving: Data scientists must be adept at formulating questions, designing experiments, and solving complex problems.
  •  Communication: Ability to convey findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
