Job Purpose:
The purpose of the job is to oversee the organisation’s daily operations to ensure that all departments work efficiently to achieve the company objectives. Monitor and track operational analytics to continuously improve processes and anticipate interventions to avoid operational inefficiencies.
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:
- Incorporate financial data into operational analytics to provide insight into how the operations affect profitability.
- Manage operational budgets and forecasts.
- Manage operational divisions, ensuring that priorities and targets are clear and that the outcomes of each division contribute qualitatively to the organisation’s operational efficiency.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for development and training.
- Expand operations team as required to meet company capacity requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise workflow and productivity.
- Ensure operational alignment of different departments toward company goals.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute business strategies and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of projects.
- Monitor and analyse key performance metrics to measure departmental and organisational performance.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
- Perform quality controls, continual improvement activities, and monitor operational activities.
- Lead and motivate a team to achieve operational excellence.
- Propose and implement innovative systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors during operational processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Business or Engineering Degree or Postgraduate Diploma
Required Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management within an engineering department.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of business operations and experience in implementing efficient processes.
- Proven track record of driving growth and efficiency in previous roles.
Recommendations:
- Experience in a high-tech production environment is beneficial.
Special requirement(s):
- Willingness to travel outside South Africa.
